Our pre-press department is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment in the field of DTP. We can translate and convert your ideas into a manufacturable final product.

By installing an AGFA AVALON platesetter with an Arkana developing machine at the end of 2019, we use very few chemicals and significantly less water.

FORMATTING & LAYOUT

We have access to most of the common graphics software (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop). From scanning to computer-to-plate. Drukkerij De Melle has the hardware, software, technical infrastructure and know-how to process the many different types of files.

If necessary, please provide a bleed of 3 mm, this is important for the finishing Tip: Adobe InDesign has a function to collect all used material.

Photoshop .eps – .tif – .jpg (high-res) >> 100% and 300 dpi (higher if necessary). Quadri images in CMYK.

How to deliver your PDF files

In order to deliver an optimal and carefully prepared print product, there are important rules regarding the delivery of files for the work to be printed:

• Submit in the correct page format.
• Page centred on document or Trimbox set.
• Sufficient bleed, at least 3 mm on all sides.
• Cutting lines at least 3mm from page size.
• All fonts loaded and embedded or converted to outlines.
• Images at 100% of the size used should be at least 300 dpi.
• Submit in CMYK and not in RGB.
• When printing in pms colours, the pms colours must be correctly positioned in the document.
• Use a separate spot colour for auxiliary lines that does not already appear in your document, set this colour to overprint.
• One pdf file per job, with all pages separate from each other. Do not create spreads.

In our printing department, we have 4 sheet-fed and 2 web presses. We print up to 10 colours in 1 pass, and on paper from 32 gsm upwards.

All our printing presses are equipped with an inline image inspection system. This allows us to check all the printing sheets for any errors against the original artwork.

Since 1990, Drukkerij De Melle has further specialised in finished graphic products for various sectors. Our core business is printing and folding leaflets for both domestic and international customers. We produce leaflets, booklets, game rules and instruction manuals. Folded from large to small, cross fold, zigzag, parallel or flat. In addition, leaflets can be provided with non-permanent gluing or a self-adhesive label. We also have the ability to die-cut, glue and fold leaflets in one pass on our machine.

All our folding machines have an inline inspection system that checks all leaflets produced.
